Step 1: Go to YouTube
Step 2: Type in "R34 GTR"
Step 3: Select any video
Step 4: Read the massive circle jerk we call comments saying "RIP Paul Walker" and "I'd murder my dog/sister/postman/penis/family/country for this car"
Step 5: Cry.
Warning: Opinion follows. It's dangerous to go alone....
This massive obsession with the Skylines on YouTube and a few forums, especially R34s, has got to stop. Yes, they're great cars. Yes, they weren't sold in America. Yes, they look good. Buuuuuut half of these people haven't even seen one in person, let alone heard it or gotten a ride in it. It's kind of crazy to have such an obsession with something you don't even know that much about! So many people who idolize these don't know anything about them. Heck, some think it's RWD and has a V8 (Actually have heard 3 people say that).
End opinion.
I know not everyone will agree, but I think it's silly to have such a fixation just because you can't have something.

How to feel better.
Step 1: Join this game of CAH

"Boo hoo look at me the poor Yankee surrounded by endlessly available, endlessly tuneable cars that only cost a month's wages and a case of Bud! Whatever will I do with all this nearly-zero fuel tax, full-size pickups, and new V8 family sedans so ubiquitous they're typecast as boring rental cars! Whaaa!"
I hope your Hell is paying 100% taxes on a sub-1 liter Nissan Micra diesel that you can't afford to drive because the congestion tax where you work is an entire day's wages, not that your daily fuel ration could get you to work anyway. Oh and have fun in jail if you think about modifying that car in any way.

Forbidden fruit syndrome. Same reason why I have to change my pants when I see any picture of an RS6 Avant

How to feel like shit for being American:
Step 1: Search RHD Forster STI on Youtube
Step 2: Watch any video
Step 3: Cry
It's an easier process.

Elections have consequences. Our control freaks just haven't pushed us as far down the road to serfdom as most other places, but we're still headed that direction.

way to feel like sh*t for being American,
Step one: look out onto a road
2: see another driver
3: cry because they should not be allowed to drive.

I blame Gran Tourismo ... American kids had never heard of a Skyline before GT .

Do these not exist in America? I park next to one in my office parking lot pretty often.

Nope, no FSTI's in America and it makes me sad.

Same with EVOs. Granted Hot Rod Magazine did run some articles on GTRs and EVOs in the late '90s.

the GTR, while a nice car was SOOOO overrated. I have mentioned before in another post but the 1999 MR2 turbo out performed the R34 GTR in almost all aspects. but good luck getting a R34 fan to believe you...

Actually, this one DOES have a v8.

I would rather cry at the lack of BA Falcons in the US. I would love to Daily drive this with my two kids seats in the back.

I have a friend that was stationed in Okinawa who owned a Skyline and he said it was fun but overrated.
